Japan-Bangladesh IT Association hosts IT Engineers Summit in Tokyo
The Japan Bangladesh IT Association (JBITA) hosted a groundbreaking Bangladesh IT Engineers Summit in Tokyo on December 12, 2023. This premier event was supported by the Embassy of Bangladesh Tokyo, JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization), and BASIS (Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services). This event brought together over 150 participants from the IT industry keen on Bangladesh.
The summit commenced with a warm welcome from Das Anjan,CEO, Kaicom Solutions & President of JBITA, followed by opening remarks from His Excellency Mr. Shahabuddin Ahmed, Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan. He explained all the initiatives taken by the embassy on various occasions and urged everyone to strengthen cooperation towards Bangladesh.
The event featured presentations by Chief representative of JETRO Bangladesh, Mr. Yuji Ando, and Director and Head of BASIS Japan Desk, Mr. AKM Ahmedul Islam BABU. Mr. Sami Ahmed, MD & CEO of Startup Bangladesh Limited, delivered an insightful speech, setting the tone for the day.
A riveting panel discussion ensued, featuring esteemed Bangladeshi IT professionals Mr. Asad Zaman (AWS), Dr. Elhum Nusrat (Rakuten), Mr. Sheikh Shariar Hossain (Deloitte), moderated by Mr. Shumpei Nakasone, CEO of Sun Corporation. Their discussions was very much insightful for their experience of Japan & Bangladesh working culture including their hard working efforts to reach at this professional level.
The summit reached its pinnacle with the guest of honor, Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP, Honorable State Minister, Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, inspiring the audience with his keynote address emphasized the importance of international cooperation in the IT industry and highlighted the growing partnership between Bangladesh and Japan.
The closing remarks were delivered by Mr. Rejwanur Kabir, COO of KK Destiny, reflecting on the day's achievements and the collaborative spirit within the IT community.
The evening continued with a networking dinner, fostering connections among participants. Commercial Minister to Bangladesh Embassy, Dr. Ariful Haque kicked off the dinner with a toast speech. The entire program was skillfully hosted by Mr. Mikami of Kaicom Solution, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience for all attendees.
